Cast Upon You

We cast nets looking for more because from birth we were cast upon God, into the depths of Him, breathing because of Him, seeking because of Him.

There’s our great dependency, lying upon Him as if a baby;

hopelessly unsatisfied unless He fills us.

Hopelessly desperate until He meets us in the infinite longing of what it means to be an eternal being.

So in all this let the lovers of the Life Giver say,

Come purify our desire until we see You in it. Help us come out of what is not of You so we can come into more of You.

And as we come out so we can go in, we have more and more victory: we take authority over fear by letting Perfect Love take authority over us.

The Author of Life will wreck your torment when you realize all this time you’ve been lying upon Him like an infant. That all you've been seeking was with you since the beginning.

It’s a greater unfolding of freedom to find Him like this. To be honest and vulnerable with Your Maker about what He designed you to need.

And the more He heals in us the more we receive of Him, finding all our fountains (Psalm 87:7) and singing as David did,

“Yet You brought me out of the womb;

You made me trust You even at my mother’s breast.

From birth I was cast upon you;

from my mother’s womb you have been my God”

(Psalm 22:9-10).

"Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters;

and you who have no money, come, buy and eat!

Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost.

Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy?

Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and your soul will delight in the richest of fare. Give ear, come to me; hear me, that your soul may live."

Isaiah 55:1-3
