Favorite Part of Being in Israel

“Again I ask: Did they [the Jews] stumble so as to fall beyond recovery? Not at all! Rather, because of their transgression, salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel envious. But if their transgression means riches for the world, and their loss means riches for the Gentiles, how much greater riches will their full inclusion bring!” (Romans 11:11-12)

My favorite part of being in Israel is getting to hear the testimonies of Messianic Jewish people. Stories of how God is breaking down lies built by blindness and abuse of the Christian message, stories of how God is bringing the Church to a rightful posture of humility towards the Jewish people, for branches who think they can live without roots will die. The fear Jewish people have of following Jesus is bowing as they begin to understand Christianity is not a different faith, but rather the fulfillment of their own.

The beautiful truth is this: many Hebrew hearts come home when they realize—believing in Jesus Messiah is the most Jewish thing they can do.
