I've Heard that You are Strong

My shame makes me strive for something I can never seem to keep.
We look to Jesus and His strength and He takes the shame right off our faces.
So the striving can stop too.
He gives an easy yoke and light burden because the world only fits on His shoulders. He was beaten bearing our burden: so we can stop beating ourselves.
"One thing God has spoken," David said, "two things have I heard: that you, O God, are strong, and that you, O Lord, are loving" (Psalm 62:11-12). I know He's strong, sometimes I forget He's stronger than everything. I know He's loving, sometimes I can't believe He'd be loving to me.
He's turned His ear to us so we keep calling. Asking Him to tell us again, asking Him to show us again and this never overwhelms Him. Jesus is pursuing us in our shame, pursuing us in our questions, pursuing us as we pursue Him.
It is a gift that we remain aware of how desperate we are for our Jewish Bridegroom.
This is the pursuit that brings peace.

"Because He turned His ear to me, I will call on Him as long as I live."
Psalm 116:2
"Those who look to Him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame."
Psalm 34:5
