Search Me

Updated: Feb 4

I can't testify that His grace is sufficient until I know nothing else ever will be.

I'll abuse and misuse gifts from God if I think they're the salvation for my emptiness.

I'll think my temporal disappointment is eternal devastation if I forget the God Who authored my living also authored my longing.

I'll never rest if I'm only looking at me: because we'll never find peace while obsessed with an incomplete picture.

So grace come search us and stop our searching, for sufficient for us is the God invading our suffering. Sufficient for us is the God Who fills everything in every way, and in the overflow and overwhelm of Him we lose ourselves and find ourselves again.

So we fix our gaze not upon ourselves but upon the One Whose gaze we can't turn from.

My resting place is in surrendering now, surrendering to His way of showing me now that He is everything.

"He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you,

for My power is made perfect in weakness."

2 Corinthians 12:9

--

"You have everything when you have Jesus, and you are filled

with God through your union with Him.

He is the highest Ruler, with authority over every other power."

Colossians 2:10
