Unwinding

My old heartache made me believe many ugly things about myself. I was twisted tight and now I'm unwinding. Spinning feels like lost control, sometimes healing feels like dying.

We walk a war torn path home. A heartbroken people looking for beauty we can become, beauty we can live in, for a masked cry for another world lives in us. We're the bleeding woman reaching for the Redeemer's robe, following His garment into glory where our vapor morphs into forever, and our devastation is a dream we can't remember.

--

"To Him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before His glorious presence without fault and with great joy– to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages now and forevermore! Amen." Jude 1:24-25

So simple yet so deeply moving. It made me wonder how much was autobiographical, but then it seemed to capture the emotions of the people of Israel? Or though Christ to us all. Beautifully written.

This is so thoughtful John. Everything you mentioned is part of it - I’d seen the personal and corporate parts when writing but you specifically mentioning the people of Israel is really beautiful. With Jesus there’s always so many layers of meaning!
